Cosmos ‘Double Click Cranberries’

Cosmos bipinnatus

Brand new to the shop this year this amazing variety came out tops in my trials last summer.

Huge fluffy blooms, Cosmos ‘Double Click Cranberries’ has double flowers in deep berry red.

You’ll see from the images it was absolutely ‘knockout’ in the garden and added a special depth of colour and interest to bouquets.

No cutting garden would be complete without a patch of Cosmos!  With long strong stems and abundant romantic blooms, its cut and come again. Regular harvesting will keep your plants producing bucketful’s of blooms through the season.

Perfect for garden decoration too, blooms dance in the breeze attracting bees and butterflies.

With so many varieties available it can be hard to choose. Cosmos ‘Double Click Cranberries’ is among my current top choices and the ones I will be including in my cut flower garden this year.

How to grow:

Don’t start Cosmos too early, these half hardy plants cannot be planted until all risk of frost has passed. Sow under cover in mid spring Ideally, in a glasshouse (or failing this, a well-lit windowsill), spacing plants so that their leaves never touch to avoid legginess.

Plants will be ready for planting into their final positions once the plant begins to bud. The stress of being grown in the confines of a pot promotes flowers earlier than in less stressful positions, such as growing in the ground and should prevent the common occurrence of Cosmos Trees (i.e. massive plants with thick green growth and a complete absence of blooms) For more detailed growing instructions join our ‘Grow Along’ on Instagram
