Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais Bonnets’
Also known as the ‘Pincushion Flower’, Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais Bonnets’ has delicate berry coloured flowers on long thin stems, perfect for bouquets and table arrangements.
This particular variety was recommended to me by a friend because of the value it brings to garden decoration, these delicate blooms dance in the breeze attracting bees and butterflies.
Once grown forever smitten. Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Beaujolais Bonnets’ is a top favourite from our 2019 trials.
How to grow:
Easy to grow, start seeds late winter / early Spring. For the best results allow plants time to grow before the Summer heat pushes them into bloom. Provide support for nice straight stems and deadhead regularly to promote further blooms to appear. Grows well in container pots.
